10 - Day Uganda & Rwanda Luxury Gorillas, Chimps, Cultural Tour

Highlights include Gorilla tracking at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park; sightings of the Golden monkey in Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda; Canoe trekking around the serene bank of Lake Bunyonyi; Exotic game drive adventure at Queen Elizabeth National Park; and a tour at the rich tropical forest of Kibale National Park.
Day 1: Welcome to Uganda & Transfer to Kibale National Park
Your guide will pick you up early in the morning. He will also provide briefing on your upcoming safari and afterwards, we make our way to to Kibale National Park in South Western Uganda passing through Masaka then Ibanda and finally through the Fortportal town until we reach the serene tropical forest of Kibale National Park. The park provides shelter to roughly around 70 mammal species including chimpanzees, as well as over 375 species of birds.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking & Chimpanzee Habituation experience
Today, we begin with an orientation at the briefing center at Kibale National Park. You can choose to either have Chimpanzee tracking or chimpanzee habituation experience. Chimpanzee tracking involves a few hours of tracking, while chimpanzee habituation involves tracking the primates from morning until the evening. Indeed, this is a unique experience that makes Safari in Uganda at par with its neighboring East African countries. There is nothing more exotic than starring in a real African jungle adventure. You get the real Ugandan atmosphere as you move through the bushes and watch the Chimps swing through the steady branches.

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth National Park
We make our way to her queen majesty, Queen Elizabeth National Park passing through Fort portal. After check-in, we will set out for a real Ugandan African adventure traversing through the bushes of this rich savannah region, which hosts a number of wildlife. This park previously known in 1952 as Kazinga National Park was later on renamed to commemorate a visit by Queen Elizabeth II. Here you can see hippos, leopards, elephants, lions, and Chimpanzees among other 95 species of mammals and over 500 species of birds.

Day 4: Game Drive & Boat Safari
You will go on a morning game drive after breakfast. You will get to see tree-climbing lions found in the southern area of the park lazily lying up on the branches of the huge fig trees. Indulge at the sight of Uganda Kobs in the open Ishasha plains as well as other wildlife including elephants and Cheetah roaming freely in their natural habitat.
After lunch, we proceed to Mweya peninsula for a boat trip through the Kazinga Channel. Here you will see wildlife along the banks of the channel including buffalo, elephants, birds, and hippos.

Day 5: Bwindi Forest Impenetrable Park
We begin our journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park while enjoying the beautiful scenery of Kigezi. Along the way, we will pass through tea plantations of Bunyaruguru and have a stopover at the exotic Kagamba Hotsprings. We then continue to Ntugame and Kabale town, a place regarded to be the Switzerland of Africa with its magnificent mountain views.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is situated Southwest of Uganda; this park holds the highest number of gorilla population in the world.

Day 6: Gorilla tracking
This day is a much-awaited adventure where you get to experience Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. We begin with an informative orientation from the briefing center. The ranges will conduct the briefing as well as lead you to the forest for a walk in search of Gorillas. An up close encounter with the Mountain gorillas is a once in a lifetime experience- a memory that Uganda will leave with you to cherish.

Day 7: Lake Bunyonyi Photography Trek & Batwa Experience
Today we set out for the Batwa community in Karengerere. Upon arrival, your guide will take you at the top of the hills to take in the great view of Lake Bunyonyi. You will also have the opportunity to take amazing photographs while trekking to hidden places. You can also visit the underprivileged children of Mwendo who will welcome you with utmost hospitality via a short concert or traditional dance.

Day 8 :Canoe Trekking & Community Tour
Today, we visit the famous Lake Bunyonyi, also known as a place for little birds. In fact “Bunyonyi” translates to “place of many little birds”. Lake Bunyonyi encircles 29 islands of various shapes and sizes- an amazing beauty that will make your heart skip a beat. You will embark on a canoe trek to enjoy its serene ambiance and breathtaking view, which has made this place synonymous to paradise.
You can also swing by at the local communities and some islands including the punishment and upside island within Lake Bunyonyi. You may also choose to spend your time visiting one of our company supported community projects, where you can meet Ugandan children.

Day 9: Volcano National Park
We begin our journey to Volcano National Park in Rwanda. Along the way, we will have a sightseeing of Kigali, otherwise known as the “country of a thousand hills.” We will also visit the Rwanda Memorial Genocide site and walk you through Rwanda’s darkest time in history from 1994 where close to one million people died. This eye opening experience will you provide you a deep understanding of Rwanda?

Day 10: Gorilla tracking (optional activity) & Transfer to Kigali
Today is set for gorilla trekking! You will have an orientation before the activity and be welcomed by a cultural dance performed by the local Rwandan people. You will then have the experience of a lifetime – tracking gorillas! There will be an assigned group of gorilla families you will spend time with during your trek.
Afterwards, we take you to Kampala or Entebbe international for your flight home or onward destination.
